Ok, here's the low down on my VE table. Look at the pic, and the blue area is where the car is actually idling. The rest of that VE table is unchanged and is Alvin's work, which I feel is where the car should be working at.

VE values of about 25% for a 1000 idle, 34* closed TPS spark advance, pulling about 8-10 in/hg vacuum. That's the best spot I've found. And it just seems ridiculous to me. The car should be wanting more fuel than that.

*edit* I pulled the pic

I don't know what the hell is going on with it. I may try and double stack the intake manifold gaskets, but that's about it.

Found out why it's acting funny. Same thing, again.

The crazy part is that the heads and manifold were mocked up on a block and VERIFIED to be getting a good seal. So why in the heck are they continuing to lose seal and allow oil/vapors in to the intake runners????

The runners and inside of the manifold as well as the throttlebody gasket even were all just soaked and saturated with oil.

i noticed you are using black RTV, and you are only putting it on the bottom of the gasket. try the grey RTV and coat the head ports and then lay down the gasket and then put RTV on top of that and then set your intake down. what are your torque specs for the intake???

I was using RTV around the entire port, not just the bottom. And I've been torquing the manifold down to factory spec, 36 ft/lb.

No work was done to the heads, just the intake. Golen Engine Service had everything, and confirmed via mock-up on a block that it was good to go.

Keyword..." a block ". But not your block...maybe there is an issue with your block. Maybe your block is not seating the heads right and throwing off the manifold. Just a thought.

I actually considered that, but this problem has chased me from the stock shortblock over to this new motor which is the same block.
