i am new to this site from ls1tech. and heard good things about teh tunning from pcmforless......i am putting a cam in my car its a custom grind cam from comp cams and grinded from speed engineering....its a 224 236 on a 502 520 lift on a 108 LSA...im wondering if i am goign to have any problmes with tunning since the low LSA or anything...i heard from my local tunere that a lot of times u have to do the tune a couple tiems b/c its not right on the first time...so any info on this would be great thanks!

The LSA isn't a problem. People confuse LSA directly with overlap. I believe we can get you into a tune the first time that your more than happy with. If you take it to the dyno and it happens to be off a bit just send it back along with the dyno sheet and i'll correct it free of charge.

What is the advantage of having such a small lobe separaton?

If you play your cards right you can actually build torque sooner with it.

correct me if im wrong but i have always heard, the smaller the LSA better for nitrous and the higher better for boost...
i talked to a guy with a 2nd gen camaro with a 383 and his cam is at a 106 LSA and he is running a 300 shot on it. he told me that the small the better for nitrous

what i undersdtand is that Nitrious likes a higher LSA like a 114 lsa....i dont know about boost...but i did not want a nitrious cam b/c im not running my nitrious all the tiem....and my cam has good high end with great low end torque..so when all the power comes rogether it makes a great street/ nitrious ready cam...

From my understanding ....
Lower lsa , example 108 is going to have my bleed by, but make more power on n/a power. If you spray on it, you won't pick up as much. But make more n/a, will be more agressive sounding, and more agressive for daily driving.
higher lsa , example 114, is going to make little bit less on n/a , but come to life with nitrous/forced induction. Will be little bit less agressive for daily driving.

well with the guy i told you about we have gotten his car running 5.10's in the 1/8th so he might be able to get more power with a higher LSA with the nitrous but he is the one that told me that and i have never heard any other on this before so i just took his word for it

Well I mean I could be wrong but this is what I was personally told when I was choosing my cam for my car. I told them I wanted more duration then cc305 , little more agressive, same LSA , but street friendly. So I got roughly an idea of numbers wise, and they told me what to go with. I ran into a guy selling a used custom ground comp cam, and I got it. haven't used it yet, but it should be pretty healthy.

buddy of mine has a BIG cam on his LS1 car, and its ground on a 108. That car makes more power N/A. He still can spray and all, but its not a nitrous based cam.
Forced induction loves higher LSAs but its all depending on how fast you wanna go n/a , or how you set up your car. I say slap it in, its gonna be very radical, I'm sure will have good duration numbers. And won't be as street friendly, but you may like it how it turns out. let me know how it does. We'll compare sound files, Mine is a good sized duration cam ground on a 114.
