how to correct speedo for gears

i'm under the impression that to change the speedometer for gears is done by a mechanical means. if this is so, where do i get this piece, and if not, how do i change it.

p.s.- 6 speed with 3.73

You have to get a speedo recalibrator. Dakota digital makes one and SLP used to make one but you can still find them on ebay if you look hard enough. Do a search, its been covered on here with more detail than I can give you. ;)
