Im considering putting a 3200 rpm stall in my 93 z. On other sites it is recommended that when putting in a high stall converter that you tune the shift points so it won't bounce off the rev limiter. Since our autos are not electronically controlled im assuming that there is no way to tune them, am i correct about this? If not what can be done? If i did put in a high stall converter would i experience the dreaded 1-2-1-2 shifting? Would a shift kit serve the same purpose as tuning the trans on later models?

I think the later 4L60E's have problems because they are electronically controlled. With the higher stall the PCM probably thinks it is slipping, and tries to correct. I put a 3600 stall in mine and dont have any issues. My rev limiter is pretty high and stock shifts points. I shift mine manually, so if I hit the rev limiter its my own fault.
