I am looking at comparing my Datamaster files to factory or good running LTx engines. My engine has long tubes and I am putting in Heated 02's this weekend, and want to see if my scans now are really that bad. Mine doesnt go into Closed loop unless I hold it , the throttle up to around 2000rpm, for a little bit, then it goes right back. I understand Heated O2s can aleviate this problem. My motor was tuned by PCMforless and runs great, other than the Open closed loop issue at idle, which gives a rich smell etc of gas, but drives great and runs 11's.
Also, one of my scans shows it in closed loop the whole time, when the A/C was on, is this normal?

that is more than likely the problem... if you want you can email me the data log and i will look at it for you, i just had to fix this problem myself..

Heated o2's will defiantely clear alot of that up.

The PCM looks at the cross count or switching.. When they stop switching fast they cut back into open loop. A heated O2 will keep it in closed loop once it hits closed loop.

Thanks, I am really wanting to educate myself, and seeing a O2 sensor work correctly with the PCM will allow me to diagnose the motor better, too.

Okay, I will send you a couple and you will see. One is with AC on and it was closed loop the whole time.
